FAQ

What is the difference between soft wash vs pressure wash?

Pressure washing uses highly pressurized water to forcefully remove any dirt or grime from the surface that it comes into contact with. This is very effective for driveways, patios, decks and pool areas

Soft washing forgoes much of that pressurization in favor of chemicals. These chemicals are safe for both your home and the environment. Soft wash removes biological elements (mold, pollen, algae, dirt, moss).

Do we do Commercial Pressure washing?

Yes we have accounts that we work with monthly, quarterly and yearly.

What is the maximum height that you can work?

Under Worker’s Compensation and insurance regulations, our coverage permits us to work up to 48 feet high. Any company doing work over 12 feet, should have the appropriate insurance coverage for the job. If you are having your roof cleaned, the company doing the work should have the appropriate coverage and should have the proof on hand. As a homeowner, be sure to confirm all coverage in order to protect yourself from any liability.

What type of equipment do you use?

We use top-of-the-line commercial grade pressure washers ranging from 12 HP to 20 HP. They are capable water pressure between 50 to 5000 psi, at a consumption of 5 gallons per minute. Most of our equipment is trailer mounted. We use the best, most widely used, 19” Surface Cleaner and Dual wands for complete control.

Should I have my roof fixed before I clean it?

I would wait until the roof is cleaned first. The roofer can see the right color it is instead of guessing. If by chance any other tiles crack or break while cleaning they can be fixed as well.

Do we need to be home when the work is completed?

No, I would say half our customers are not home. We ask that things are moved out of the way. We do prefer to do a final walk around when a job is complete with our clients in order to address any questions

How much will it costs us for water usage?

A general estimate is that it will cost about $7 an hour for water being using with two workers. It’s about an average use of 5 GPM(gallons per minute).

How often should roofs get cleaned?

For the 1st time cleaning whether it be metal, shingle or tile there’s different pitches and different colors. If you have a new a roof we have seen as early as five years and as late as 12 years but an average is eight years. This is all going to be determined by your type of roof. After the first cleaning it’s an average of 2.5 years, but still depends on your type of roof. We would recommend enrolling in our roof maintenance program. Doing lighter cleanings more often increases the overall life of your roof.

What chemicals do you use?

The majority of our chemicals are either chlorine/bleach products and/or de-greasers for animal fats or petroleum-based. Chlorine is about twice as strong as household bleach and is typically 12.5% chlorine. Without a downstream injector, we don’t use more than 20% of the chemical being used. The de-greasers we use are biodegradable. They are either used for animal fats, restaurant oil, petroleum-based products like hydraulic fluid and motor oil.

For chemical cleaning, do you walk on roofs or spray from the ground?

We walk on 95% of roofs because we use about one-third of the chemical you would typically use if you are spraying from the ground or ladder. This means a lot less chemical to kill anything around your house such as plants, flowers, shrubs, bushes and or grass. And if you have a inter valley trying to get it clean from the ground or ladder won’t work.

Are the chemicals you use plant friendly, paint friendly , pet friendly or environmentally friendly

Spraying any kind of chemical and not rinsing it can be harmful. We wet the target to be cleaned before we apply the chemical and completely rinse it as a final step. Many of our products are biodegradable and earth friendly.

Will the pressure remove paint from my house?

All our pressure washers are adjustable. It can be gentle enough to clean a pet or set to strip paint. The pressure we use will depend on the job type though we rarely use full pressure.
